When Is the Best Time of Year to Epoxy a Garage Floor in Bloomington?

The dew point is the number nobody checks
NOAA's hourly normals for the airport explain why a July install can fail on a sunny day. On a normal July 15 the dew point holds between 61.1 and 62.1 degrees F around the clock while the air runs from 67.0 at 5 a.m. to 81.6 by mid-afternoon. At dawn the air is less than 6 degrees F above the dew point, and a slab that lost heat overnight is colder than the air. Condensation at rollout is a bond failure waiting to happen.
September 15 is better and worse at once: the dew point runs 51.4 to 52.7 and the afternoon reaches 70.9, a margin near 19 degrees F, but at 6 a.m. the air is 56.5 against a dew point of 51.4, a 5 degree margin a cold slab erases. Mid-May is driest, with a dew point of 43 to 44 under a 66 degree afternoon, but its 51 degree dawn is under the epoxy floor. The rule: prime after the slab has warmed through late morning, and let a hygrometer and an infrared thermometer, not the forecast, call the start.
The salt season sets the other edge
The second boundary is what the weather puts on the road.
